Work from home!

The best commute is no commute at all!

Working from home and staying off the road help reduce traffic congestion in the community. But working from home can also benefit individuals. Turn the time once spent commuting into productive time, whether that means spending more time with family, working out, practicing self-care, or jump-starting your workday. And because fewer vehicles are on the road, the region's air quality is expected to improve significantly. Additionally, many people who work from home report being more productive, less stressed, and happier. According to Global Workplace Analytics, working from home two to three days a week is the optimal balance for both solo and collaborative work.

Reduce employee stress and increase productivity.

Over the next five years, experts predict that the number of remote workers in Colorado will increase by 21%. As part of employee recruitment and retention, telework can be offered as a benefit or on an as-needed basis, such as during weather events. Research and anecdotal evidence indicate that work flexibility boosts productivity.

According to Global Workplace Analytics, remote workers at American Express demonstrated 43% higher productivity than their office-based colleagues. Higher productivity is partly due to employees being happier and healthier when they have some control over their work lives.

In addition to helping workers feel better and more productive, working from home can also reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality throughout the region.

Flexible work schedules

Skip rush hour and improve work satisfaction!

Consider incorporating flexible work schedules or compressed workweeks as a small but appealing addition to your employee benefits package. With the average Denver commuter spending more than 60 hours in traffic each year, allowing employees to adjust their schedules to avoid rush-hour traffic can significantly improve retention and overall satisfaction. Compressing workweeks will enable employees to complete their regular work in fewer than the standard five days per week, or to work longer hours on some days and shorter hours on others. Regardless of the option you choose for your employees, it helps them achieve a better work-life balance.

Another benefit of offering flexible work schedules is that they make it easier to align your company's payroll with seasonal or other shift patterns, bringing additional cost savings.

Let our RideNoCo team provide information and evaluate your needs to determine whether flexible work schedule options are a good fit for your company. Reach out for more information at mobility@nfrmpo.org or call us at (970) 514-3636 today!
