Transportation Demand Management (TDM)
Transportation Demand Management (TDM) is a set of strategies designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality by making alternatives to driving alone more convenient and appealing. These strategies include telework, public transit, carpooling and vanpooling, biking, walking, and flexible work schedules. By encouraging shared, active, and multimodal travel options, TDM helps create a more efficient, connected, and reliable transportation system for everyone.
The North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO) partners with local communities and agencies to enhance mobility and reduce single-occupancy vehicle trips throughout Northern Colorado. As the region continues to grow, expanding roadway capacity can be expensive and time-consuming. TDM strategies help maximize the use of the existing transportation network while meeting travel needs.
NFRMPO supports TDM planning and implementation by coordinating partners, sharing resources, and simplifying access to transportation options for residents and employers. RideNoCo, NFRMPO’s mobility coordination program, serves as a central source for transportation information in Larimer and Weld Counties and beyond, providing free assistance to help people find affordable, safe, and reliable ways to get where they need to go.
